ABOUT US
The British Amateur/Home Produced Arabian Championships
This exciting championship show is open to the Amateur/Home Produced people of the Arabian World, and was held with much success for the first time in 2007, in conjunction with BACS.
We decided to start the show when the AHS cancelled the Home Produced Championships, usually held at the National Show, Malvern. We felt there was a need and an audience for a show where the “amateurs” of the Arabian horse world – whether it be Pure, Anglo or Part Bred – could compete at a high standard, but on a more level playing field and not be up against the many professionals who now grace the showing rings.
This Championship show is geared towards the true “amateur”, the person who puts the long hard hours in getting their horse fit for competition and more often than not having to compete against the professionals – we want to give a bit back and encourage the “grass roots” of the AHS. The people who promote their Arab horses week in week out throughout the country, without little or no recognition.
Last year we attracted more than 140 entries from people who had qualified up and down the country, from the far North of Scotland to the very South of England. The show grew very quickly from 2 classes to 10 , covering both in hand and ridden pure and partbred/Anglo Arabs.
This year we have added 4 more classes, young handlers and young riders – and veteran in hand and ridden (horse over 15 years old) and we have expanded to a full day at Bromyard Equestrian Centre, Saturday 5th September 2009. BACS will be held the day after on the Sunday , so once again a fun, enjoyable and relaxed weekend is in order .
Please enjoy this website – which will provide you with all the information and details of this years show.
